Introducing and promoting bicycle touring in Malaysia nationwide and internationally. Cycling in Malaysia is an unparalleled treat to those of us who grew up strapped into the seat of a car. We consider the bicycle the perfect means of transportation since it allows the body to keep pace with the mind. “Bicycle Touring” ( cycling tourism) is a great platform for experiencing adventure and rural (domestic) tourism in Malaysia. Discover a new way of visiting the true Malaysia for our visitors and another activity for our youth.
We name it as “My Cycle Tour”. The name have two meanings. “My” in the internet world means Malaysia if the web site url address end with a “.my” therefore for our visitors it means Malaysian cycle tour. As for our youth it’s become a more personal tour and also their achievement cycling around Malaysia.
Peace , Harmony and Integration
It’s not a race of physical endurance but an enjoyable, educational tour that emphasizes peace , harmony and integration; based on the “Lima Prinsip Rukunegara” ( 5 Principles of 'Rukun Negara'). It will also reflect Malaysia's multi-racial composition and a greater spirit of understanding.
The cycling tour route is meticulously planned and designed for greater road safety and awareness. It will cultivate a sense of responsibility and will instill proper road safety as a priority for all road users.
The participating groups are divided into 3 to 4 convoys, each consisting of a convoy leader and supporting assistance to lead and facilitate the group. Support vehicles will be commissioned to provide logistical assistance. It will henceforth become one of many planned itineraries' for “ Bicycle Touring”-Cycling Tourism in Malaysia.
Zonice Rovers as “Bicycle Touring”Ambassadors of Malaysia
Zonice Rovers, are essentially, a gathering of very passionate and driven 'Scouts', who have undertaken this awesome journey way back in 1979.They have done this consecutively for 13 years in a row. Similar exciting tours were undertaken to Kuantan, Pekan, Rompin, Morib, Seremban, Port Dickson, Melaka, Johor Bharu, Singapore.
Zonice Rovers, have initiated cycling tourism as a synergistic platform for experiencing travel and adventure, driving the potential of rural (domestic) tourism to greater positioning and popularity in Malaysia. Zonice Rovers is well positioned towards facilitating every aspect in the organization and formulation of activities undertaken to encourage, conduct and promote education and information programs. These programs will encompass unity and integration,better understanding of domestic tourism and above all greater road safety.
This will eventually further and nurture the interest in “Bicycle Touring”, to be a very ideal and attractive component to recreational cyclists, cross-country cyclists and adventure seekers.
